Clip Art - Shahrazad (Scheherazade)

I'm very lucky to have a 1923 copy of The Arabian Nights, gorgeously and generously illustrated by the great American artist Eric Pape. This is the fourth in this series. Follow my Flickr link for high resolution downloads in several sizes.

Digital Collage - Paris Rose

I am so very pleased with my latest collage effort, Paris Rose, containing elements from The Graphics Fairy (Paris Label), Darvahlous (border, Paris and flourish), Shabby Chic Papirskatter (1897 seed catalog cover), and SkeletalMess (background). I've etched the layers for texture, applied "poster edges", and did two versions - soft aqua and taupey cream.  Some day, these will make nice cards w/envelopes. For now, they are just gift tags.

Background - Cherubs, Angels and Hearts

With this end paper, I introduce clip art from my copy of Bachelor Belles, illustrated by Harrison Fisher, copyright 1908. Besides the ubiquitous and elegant ladies and gents, this volume has lovely, classic love poems printed over a delicate pastel blue print background. For some reason my scanner saw today's posting as reddish, which is in keeping with its subject matter. Click my Flickr link for high resolution downloads in several sizes.

Photo - Time Passages

Today's antique photo is of my great grandfather, Clyde, as a young man. He was married to Katherine. The second photo shows him in middle age, some twenty years or more before I was born. I think his serenity and kindness was apparent in his eyes at either age, don't you?

Clip Art - American Bluebird

This is #3 of 3 pairs of birds on an antique lithograph in my paper stash. Click my Flickr link for high resolution downloads in several sizes. Below is how I used the bluebird for some Christmas tags.

Digital Collage - Floral Etchings

Much like coloring with crayons, I've digitally etched lines over this antique botanical to reveal the colored layer below it. A vintage wallpaper image from The Graphics Fairy is ghosted over the iris, and the antique butterfly image received a digital colored pencil texture treatment.

The antique tulip botanical and grasshopper received the same digital enhancements, and the background is an antique Morris pattern.
